How much does a website cost in Nigeria?
The short answer: a simple website for a small business in Nigeria commonly costs somewhere between ₦150,000 and ₦500,000. An online store usually costs more, and a fully custom platform can cost far more again. Quotes vary this much because people are often pricing very different things.
What changes the price of a website
- Number of pages. A five page site costs less than a twenty page one.
- Design. A template adjusted to your brand costs less than a fully custom design.
- Features. Contact forms and WhatsApp buttons are simple. Booking systems, blogs, and member areas add work.
- Selling online. A store needs products, a cart, checkout, payments, and delivery options, which is why it costs more than a business site.
- Revisions and timeline. More rounds of changes and faster delivery both affect the quote.
- Who builds it. A freelancer, a small studio, and a large agency price the same work very differently.
Typical price ranges by type of website
| Type | What it is | Rough range |
|---|---|---|
| Business website | A few pages that show your services, location, and how to contact you | About ₦150,000 to ₦500,000 |
| Online store | Products, cart, checkout, payments, and delivery options | Usually higher, from several hundred thousand naira to a few million depending on catalogue size and features |
| Custom platform | A web app or marketplace built to your own requirements | Priced per project, often well above the others |
These are broad ranges, not a price list. Published figures vary a lot, so treat any single number with caution and ask for a written quote.
Costs beyond the build
The build is not the only cost. Plan for these as well:
- Domain name. Your web address, renewed every year. A .ng or .com domain is commonly a few thousand to around ten thousand naira a year.
- Hosting. The server that keeps your site online. Basic shared hosting starts from roughly ₦7,000 a month, and busier sites pay more.
- Maintenance. Updates, backups, security, and small edits, either handled by you or by your developer.
- Content. Photos and written text. Good photos of your own work make a real difference.
- Payment fees. If you run a store, payment providers take a small fee on each sale. See how to accept payments on a Nigerian website.
Domain and hosting prices change, so check current rates before you buy.
Questions to ask before you pay
- What exactly is included, and how many pages or products does the price cover?
- How many rounds of revisions do I get?
- Will I own the domain and the website, and who holds the login details?
- How long will it take, and what happens if it runs late?
- Can I edit the content myself, and will you train me?
- What does support cost after launch?
- Will I get a written scope and a fixed price before work begins?
Is a very cheap website worth it?
Sometimes, but be careful. A very low price can mean a generic template, no revisions, no training, and nobody to call when something breaks. For a business that relies on its website to earn trust, it often pays to spend a little more for a site that looks credible and that you can manage yourself.
What Fritt charges
I publish my prices because most developers hide theirs.
- Business Website, from ₦300,000. Up to 5 pages, mobile responsive design, contact form and WhatsApp buttons, Google Maps, basic SEO, one round of revisions, training, your domain and standard hosting for the first year, and delivery in 7 to 10 working days.
- Ecommerce Starter, from ₦500,000. Up to 20 products, cart, checkout and payments, delivery options, two rounds of revisions, training, your domain and standard hosting for the first year, and delivery in 14 to 21 working days.

These are starting prices. The final quote depends on your pages, products, and features, and I send a short written scope, timeline, and fixed price before any work begins.
